I used LMF maple 2 coats, then 2 coats of LMF nut brown, followed by several coats of chambers oil, then lightly buffed back with 0000 steel wool, then 2 coats of an all-natural clear I use, then very lightly buffed with denim, then waxed. but you have to take into consideration every piece of wood reacts a little different, close but not exactly the same sometimes. so that same method may be a little different on your piece of wood. the metal I done with super blue buffed back. the brass also got super blue,,,,,,,,,,,,,Olskool, what did you use to achieve that red color?
