Chokes with prb in Pedersoli 12ga

I ordered some .690 and .715 round balls to try out of my 12ga.The largest choke I have is IC.The .690 balls will fit fine with a patch thru the choke but .715 will fit by itself but not with a patch.I don't won't to waste the balls so I may try to use them bare ball with a couple of overshot cards.will it work without a patch and could it damage my gun in any way.The .690 will work fine with a patch.I'm not ready to fork out any more cash for more chokes if I don't have to.

With the .715 balls, I'm thinking 75gr Triple7 with a nitro card a felt wad over powder,a ball then 2 overshot cards to hold ball.The .690 should work with a .015 or .020 patch.I gave some .010 also but they may be too thin.

That is a good question.That's what I've been using wig ITX shot for ducks.I just want a good seal.Will just one felt wad do it.I'm new to this so I may seem pretty ignorant.

I use just a stack of os thin cards or just a lubed felt wad snapped in two.
Sometimes just a rolled up ball of newspaper.

ok.I'll try that first.It will be a month or so before I can shoot because I recently had rotator cuff surgery but I hope to be able to shoot by Hog season on Mar 1st.I'm just getting prepared right now.I've ordered all the supplies I will need.Now,I just have to see what works.I hope I can get decent accuracy with a ball out to 40 or 50 yards.6"-8" groups would be acceptable for hogs I think.

Hope you fix quick, most folk I know whome had that do heal quick.

My Pedersoli double I use as a combination gun and just use ball in the left barrel when I want to, that barrel goes close to point of aim. If yours shoots like mine you should be plenty good enough to 40 for sure.
My load chain in that barrel is powder+ olive oiled fiber wad+ patched ball. No chokes though!
