Someone said patience is a virtue, never been one of my strong points though. I should have it assembled and ready to shoot by tomorrow afternoon. Maybe even have time to cast a few balls. Of course I’ve got shot on hand. But what if….,

Yes, overall I’m pleased with the kit. Clay Smith is one of the few quality trade gun kit makers that can actually provide a kit in a reasonable amount of time. I doubt I’ll build another, but if I do I’d ask him to not inlet the side plate or the thumb plate. I had problems with the lock initially but that wasn’t Clay’s fault. And he was helpful with questions. His youtube videos are helpful too. So if someone wants to build one, I’d definitely recommend Clay Smith. Just don’t expect it to be like a Kibler kit! But on the other hand, if someone wants a quality trade gun custom built, Rob Miller is the go to guy.

Thanks Walt, but I’ll have to rest up before I take on another build like this. I’m much better at Kibler speed!

One way to strip a stock without sanding is to use krudcutter degreaser. It pulls out everything down to bare wood. Even old oil, stain and varnish. I use a scouring pad an rinse with hot water. Works great!
