I found the same problem on a pawn shop purchase of a Traditions Deer Hunter that I gave to one of my granddaughters. Wasn’t happy with the nipple fit, took the drum off and it was definitely sticking into the bore. I’ll cut it back to the proper length and drill/retap for a larger nipple. Have a couple of standard drums on hand if this doesn’t work.
