Every time for sure...why ruin a lock...$$$$ I use the wifes hair dryer to blow dry the lock. It get very warm and all water evaporates..then I oil it good with Accuguard and Acculube from Jim Chambers.

Take lock off, hot water under the faucet, few drops off Dawn dish detergent and a scrubbibg with toothbrush, then wipe excess water off with paper towel, then blow-dry, then spray with Ballistol and wipe off excess.
