The books which I reference on this subject seem to say that the reproduction Colt Company revolvers (2nd Generation and Heritage) had their main parts made in Italy on the machinery there, but they were finished, fit and assembled in the US under Colt's direction and serial numbered as a continuation of the original Colt numbering. My opinion on comparing the other revolvers to these Colt revolvers is that the Italian reproductions are just fine and work well but are not as well-finished and fit as the Colts are. I have two of the Colt's revolvers and I choose to shoot them rather than to save them unfired.
