1) There are rare variants that command premium prices.
2) There is the matter of condition - a 99% gun can be worth several times an 85% gun in some cases.
3) Some sellers are hopeless optimists & have not realistically priced their wares.
4) Some "sellers" are not trying to sell - they are looking for bragging rights ("my antique car is worth more than yours") or trying to bolster the slightly less ridiculous price of another item that they or a friend is trying to sell ($27,000 is a deal - here's one in worse shape for $30,000) or my favorite, "yes dear, I am working to thin the collection, I have four listed for sale right now. Looks like the market is a bit slow though"
