What can anyone tell me about the Colt Model 1851 Navy 2nd generation manufactured in 1971 . Are these considered real Colts like the F series. Would this be considered a C series? Were these made at the Colt factory. I know this is a lot of questions. I appreciate any information.

As a person who was in your shoes not that long ago....I can tell you that there is a plethora of posts talking about that very thing on tge various different forums.

This one
The colt forum
Etc.

Just put something like,
Colt 1851 second generation
In the google machine.

The 2nd gens from my understanding are Italian parts sent to the US under contract from Colt. The parts are then put together and marketed as Colt products. My experience with them is the outsides are pretty and well finished. The internals are a whole other story. These 2nd gens really need a lot of help to make them right and still need the arbor corrected.
