I have a few Navy’s, 2 a colt Gen2’s and one Uberti, all around 20 years old. Also own a Colt Gen2 Hartford and Walker(never shot). The two Colt Gen2 Navy’s are my favorites, shooting as well as my modern revolvers out to 40-50 yards. IMO, they are surely a notch above the Uberti in fit, finish, balance, and shooting performance. I can see the broad appeal for this model.

I recently received a second Uberti 1851 from Dixie; the date code CU (2019) was one year later than the first revolver and the serial number was 10,392 units higher. That's a lot of 1851's in a year. I was happy to send it back the same day not only because the wedge bottomed against its retaining screw before doing anything, but also due to the opaque calf sh#t brown grip. I felt sorry for the poor thing and probably should have just given it a decent burial here.

That's rare getting a newer production gun out of Dixie......I bought a brand new in box Pedersoli 1816 musket from them and it came in a shelf worn box with a 2007 date code.
