I've not used anything other than the gun oil when wiping down after cleaning on traditional rifles, including the nipple threads. They all have twisted off with no problem. I think the angles from barrel to drum mitigate the pressure curve that can gum up the mating of the nipple to the drum threads

Once had an inline, though, that demanded the use of anti-seize or it would bind up with very few shots. The straight pressure filled up the threads instantly. Don't miss that rifle any.

I don’t have technically nipple grease. I do have a can of the standard industrial copper colored anti seize . Would it be fine to use it on the nipple threads and set screw plug hole ? I would think so. But thought I’d ask. Yeah the crap is messy if you’re not careful. But I have it already. Thanks WarDawg.
I have never used anything at all for over 40 years and removing my nipples has never been a problem as long as I remove them every time I clean my M.L.?

I sometimes use pluming pipe dope. It' a little stick wrapped in thick paper. You just rub it on and your done. Used that on breach plugs and drums as well as nipples and clean out screws. I always use the clean out screws on the CVA's. I also get a hardware store replacement with a much bigger head than the orignals.

I definitely wasn’t being critical, I genuinely want to know because maybe I should be doing more and I thought with all the experience in this forum I’d get a consensus of what I should be doing. My cleanout plug does go in awful easy and even wiggles slightly and at times I thought, could that plug go flying out of there?
But don’t want to highjack your thread,, pardon me, carry on👍
I use anti seize on my nipples to ensure I can get them out again, after having to drill one out it's cheap insurance.

How much heat can that dope stand up to?

Not sure heat is really an issue.

How many shots in quick succession would it take to heat up the metal above the ambient temperature?

It would take a lot of shoots to heat up the metal to the point you could not touch it with your bare fingers.
