I have a .577cal. mixed parts rifle with a 32 inch barrel and 1:66 twist.I am not sure of the correct round ball size.I am currently trying a .562 mold but I was thinking of trying a .575.
Thank you for any input.

I would suggest either .005 or.010 under your land to land diameter . Only going .002 under would give you a very tight fit for a patched round ball. :idunno:

I think that a .575 with patch would be very tight if you could get it in the bore.

I have a 58 musket that works very well with the .570 works great. .015 patches shoot very well and load easy. However the patches look pretty ragged. If I use .018 patches they shoot a little better but are a pain to start. In fact if I am at a match and using them I carry a rubber mallet to help start them. I shoot 65 grains of 2F!

There have been several posts about using .562 balls and thick patches that can be thumbed into the bore. I have not tried this yet but I have 50 coming so we'll see. They say that they get great accuracy. Again I'll try the.
