Smokey Days- I found it, the whole story, better bring a lunch, but really a fun read. Go to 'PBS', Archives of the West, you want 1868-1874 or episode 5. Scroll down to "The Buffalo Harvest" Frank H. Mayer... This will also let you know why they were not called Buffalo Hunters, but instead Buffalo Runners.... Respectfully Montanadan
