I use the bottled stuff made by Wahkon Bay outfitters. I'm sure it is not full strength as it produces a pleasing dark honey tone when used straight from the bottle. Some years back I bought some from Eric Kettenberg at Dixon's Fair and that had to be cut with water or the maple got way too dark.
 
I still have some of Erics Nitrate of Iron, he stated it was 6:1 ratio and I use it straight out of the bottle.

This was three coats each left to dry over night.

You have to post the photo in your Photobucket account (or a site like that). Then go down to image & copy the IMG, come back here & paste that on the post.
