Offering a custom 32 caliber southern poor-boy style longrifle. Builder is Jeff Sluder (maker marked JS 2-18 on left side flat). The lock, hardware and barrel are all finished in a grey steel. Maple stock has a little figure, mostly visible in the forestock. A couple small handling marks from the 4 years or so that I've taken it to the range or chasing squirrels and rabbits. Its been a great rifle, accurate and pleasant to carry. Just recently got a 36 -basically a double of this, and I don't need 2 of the same gun.

Barrel is a Green Mountain A weight swamped 44-inch with a pristine bore. Finish is deliberately left a little grainy or coarse to fit the style of the rifle. Davis double set triggers fire a Chambers Late Ketland lock. This lock has been a great sparker and generally easy on flints. Gun is fitted with a toeplate and a plain steel plate for a buttstock. Ramrod thimbles are also steel.

The gun weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces on my kitchen scale. LOP is 13 3/4 inches and overall length a hair over 60 1/2 inches.

Asking $1450, USA shipping included. Personal check or money order are good. PM for details, questions.

Edited to add builder and barrel details I found on 11/17

Whose Barrel & what twist, and whose lock?
Lock is a Chambers Late Ketland.

Not sure of barrel maker. I have not pulled it for any other marks, but on the left side flat are a couple stamps -maybe a maker's mark but I asked a few builders and no one has been able to identify them. Twist is about 1:58 (3/4 turn in the 44-inch barrel).

Saw a post today in one of the facebook groups I follow where the builder (Jeff Sluder) was making a butt plate like the one on this gun. I looked at a couple of his other posts and saw his maker mark is the "JS" stamped on the barrel. Back to his posts in early 2018 and he documented making this gun. Barrel is a swamped Green Mountain A weight -one of the last swamped barrels made by Green Mountain.
