I have modified hole saws in 3/4" 7/8", 1 1/8", 1 3/8", 1 7/8", and 2 1/4"
I use whatever size shooting patch that covers the muzzle from outside edge to outside edge, and cleaning patches the next size up. Not very scientific, but I have not bought a shooting or cleaning patch in years. I use pillow ticking (.015 or .018+) for most of my shooting patches, and I use cotton flannel for the cleaning patches.
I inherited three sets of 100% cotton flannel sheets when my MIL passed. Recently, I was at a name brand's factory outlet store and found a discounted 100% heavy cotton flannel king-sized bed sheet (104"v110") for $9.95. That is about 2,500 patches of various diameters. I use the discards to make char cloth whenever I have a fire going. Using the dryer lint from washing/drying the cotton flannel sheets and the free char cloth, I have not started a fire in my fireplace with a match in fifteen years. My wife loves it when I start the fire with flint and steel.
