CVA "Cavalry" SxS Shotgun

Anyone familiar with the old CVA short barreled "cavalry" shotgun? Did it have a specific model name? Pros? Cons? Pedersoli makes a new one called Baker Cavalry, but it has back action locks and is pretty spendy.

Nobody? I have seen specific wanted posts in the classifieds over the years for these, well before Pedersoli came out with theirs.

I saw a photo of one claimed to be an original to Terry's Texas Rangers and it had back action locks, common at the time. Here's one that was for sale here about 3 years ago.

Navy Arms offered a no frills 12 gauge side by side with two sets of barrels, 14" and 28".
Have no idea what name they mite have given it. When living in the thickets of southeast Texas I could see the utility of 14" barrels but also plenty of frustration with things beyond your reach.

I remember a photo of one of Sam Fadala's boys holding one of these in one of the endless blackpowder guides he helped write. Son labeled "Teenager" in caption ...

I have a CVA 12 gauge with 20" barrels I got on a trade a few years back. One of the locks is fubar and I just keep it as a wall hanger. I also have a Pedersoli Baker Cavalry which I bought last year from Midway at a discounted price. The general quality is pretty good, but I'm not crazy about the single trigger.

I owned the Navy Arms Texas Cavalry shotgun as pictured above. I mostly shot it with paper confetti on the fourth of July. Killed one grouse with it.

I now own the CVA version. It is only marked "Shotgun" on the barrels. Not as nicely finished as the Navy Arms, but fully functional. Have not shot it yet. It is light and handy. I got it while looking for the Pedersoli double flintlock 20 gauge, which I now have also. The CVA could be available if someone really needed it.
