I have a CVA Tennessee Rifle that I'm going to re-stock..as noted before, I hate those 2 piece stocks. I'm going to buy a stock from Pecotonica. I've never inletted a lock before, but I bought a piece of maple, and I've inletted my lock about 6 times now. Each try is getting better.
The barrel is 33.5" long, .875" across.
I'm leaning towards the Southern Mountain, and using Iron furniture.
My question is this. Is a 33" barrel too short for this style rifle? I'd think someone in that era would use any barrel they could get, right?
I probably won't ever be judged/juried anything like that, I just don't want to stupid looking gun.
Thanks,
WindLaker
