Hi Gents, I recently acquired a CVA Express Double and it seems that the right hammer mechanism has some major issues which prevents it from falling beyond half-cock. The seller is offering a full refund as he claims it worked 100% before he shipped.

Here's a pick of the hammer system. It looks as if a small piece moves as well as if a part may be bent. Can anyone help me?

YES that is the sear and it bent , the only way that could happen is for the trigger to be forced when the lock was at 1/2 cock

Hi,
You are out of the battle with that sear bar, bent like that ( does not say too much for the hardness of a CVA sear).
VTI gun parts should have a replacement, I would get two.
One for the left, and one for the right.
Make sure they are hard before you replace them.
I have never had any good success with CVA locks.
There was always something wrong with them!

The piece that moves is called a fly. The purpose is to lift the nose of the sear over the half cock notch as the hammer falls. Its not really needed for a single trigger gun, but it does no harm.

You need a new sear.

That's what I thought. The second I pulled the trigger at full cock I knew something was wrong so I took apart to investigate. I contacted the seller and we're going to it work out.

Looks like I have some phone calls to make today.
