and don't feel some externally imposed guilt trip about shooting a gun that's not pleasing to someone else's aesthetic standard.

while I agree that friends don't let friends drive Fords, I staunchly defend your right to shoot whatever you see fit.

The gun says Hawken on it, so that's what I am calling it. I will take 'er in the woods and kill deer with PRBs. Could care less about asthetics.

My CVA Hawken (sorry fellas, that's what it is) has a 12-1/2" LOP.

Did you modify it or did it come that way? Care to post some photos? I'm thinking of doing the same for my children.
