CVA .45 flinter was one of the first black powder rifles I ever built years and years ago. Lota nonsense get posted about em, but they dont have to be beauty queens to put meat on the table. To many people are hung up on spending a fortune to do the same thing you can do on a budget. Buy it, work it, shoot it, go kill stuff with it. Most importantly, have fun with it.

Hey Mule...that CVA looks sweet! Now why dont they make em like that at the factory???

Thank you sir!

I must agree, but would say, that it is up to the creative mind to do what needs done!

I have another Kentucky in the garage awaiting some more sever aging

Nicely done Mule Brain! My son is getting ready to build one, I hope you won't mind if I ask for some building tips later on. I really like the way yours turned out. Thanks, Paul

Not a problem at all! I don't know much but will do all I can.

No I was not. Someone wanted it more than I did. Perhaps it wound up with a good home after all. I do however have another CVA Kentucky percussion in .45 that I plan on re-finishing completely and giving it to my son-in-law (well he's married to my step daughter....step-son-in-law???) for Christmas. He's a bit of a gun enthusiast and seems to be developing an interest in muzzleloaders. I thought perhaps a little push in the right direction would encourage him to stay on the traditional path. It's a good shooter and I think would be a good rifle for someone to start out with.
