Excuse my ignorance but is the Mountain and the Mountain Stalker the same CVA product?
NO. The mountain stalker is NOWHERE near the gun the mountain rifle is. In this shape (bore) the rifle would go over $500.00 these days. These lil guns do shoot though, many a deer done in. Short for smaller men, kids and/or ladies too.

I have a couple of them, they are excellent shooters.
My hunting rifle is a Mountain Stalker. I used to hunt with my Hawken, but the Mountain Stalker is lighter and easier to hump around the forest all day.
Indeed and they can be VERY accurate too. Mine shot mostly PRB but I believe this is the one pop used to like to shoot hornady great plains out of, now there's a wallop!

Sure. But I will say up front I have no safe queens and my rifles have all been to the woods and have the blemish's you describe. They are all cleaned and I am in AZ so bores remain shiny as new. PM me email or I can just report here and BTT
