Rayb: There is no reason to load that gun with heavy loads for shooting clays. Down-load that to a 20 ga. load of 2 1/2 drams(69 grains), and 7/8 oz of shot for clays, and you can shoot all day and not feel it. Or even consider using a 28 ga. load of 2 drams(55 grains) and 5/8 oz of shot. At the short ranges that clays are shot, this should be sufficient. Use FFg powder rather than FFFg. powder, too, in that 12 ga. Save the 3 dram and 1 1/4 oz. shot, and heavier loads for the field, where you are only going to be shooting a few rounds. If you load #8 shot, you should do fine at clays.
