There is a 36 cal sheriff's model on ebay right now being sold in three seperate sections, bbl, cylinder, complete frame. Go figure, either someone was over zealous in blocking your item or their sound asleep on this one.

A couple of points--The pistol you mentioned would violate their rules as they do say you cannot list receivers or frames. Thus, I suppose the pistol frame is in violation. In my situation, they first told me that the stripped lockplate was a "complete firearm" and thus banned. When I complained to their managers, they then said it was a complete firearm because it could be combined with the stripped barrel and ramrod I was selling to make a "complete flintlock". Apparently, these are the only parts you need?!

They said something else that was perhaps more important. They told me that they rely on their customers to report listings that violate their policies and they were not set up to police it themselves. They asked me to report to them others that were listing offending "firearms" so they could be removed. I was not about to turn someone else in, and did not. However, I am certain that I was "reported" to them by someone--probably an individual who had a competing item listed. The point is, that by their own admission, they apparently only take action against listings reported to them and do not actively seek them out otherwise.

I've seen this done many times on eBay. What better way to get rid of the competition than to report them to eBay as a violation. eBay removes the auction and you auction continues. In the mean time the "reported offender" fights with eBay to get their item listed again.

I agree that competitors rat out other sellers - I've seen this done. But I also have it on good authority (from eBay) that, on more than one occassion, a bidder has reported a seller in hopes that the auction will be closed with them in the lead. The intention being that the seller will then deal directly (outside of eBay) with the high bidder to finish the transaction, the seller unknowing to the fact that the bidder/buyer is the very individual who reported the seller to eBay in the first place as the name of the tattler is not revealed to the seller by eBay! Ebay is concerned about such occurrences as can be expected.

Ah Bess with non drilled vent. LMAO
This is a way around selling a real firearm.

Some place ? I read fellas were claiming they shot great once a few modifications were made.

Yes ebay is a all different business.
Big enough to shuck us off.
To bad more folks did not use gunbroker.com for listings.
Ebay has plenty of BP and firearms related items.
Some people can't see the antis past a quick buck.
