Yeah, sometimes I wish I had satellite again, but I was spending $60/month on 150 channels to get the 3 I wanted to watch, and then when I finally got a chance to sit down and watch sumtin I'd fall asleep.

Oh well, soon as some fog lifts here I should go shoot the mountain rifle. Bear season starts Friday.

Be well

Fess Parker sure takes me back. I remember I had a geu-wine Davy Crockett semni auto plastic flint lock and a powder horn made from two peices of plywood. I would grab my **** skin cap and kill my old grey cat who could turn into a bear, cougar or a pack of hostile indians at will.I still have a photo of me in my authentic (?) gear.

I've got the recorder going i can remember as a boy not missing a single week, also the neighbor made me and her son indian outfits just like Mingo's

Brings to mind Ed Ames' visit with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. He was showing Johnny how to throw tomahawk, or castrate hostiles, I don't remember which.

No, but watched 5 episodes. Amazing how good the indians talk english!

Yes they seem to speak english very well.

I was just a little kid whan this stuff came on. Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone were two of my favorites. I always wanted a gun just like Davy Crocketts. Watching some episodes today brought it back a bit but knowing what I do now some seemed a bit more unreal than when I was a tyke. Kind of like watching Batman reruns and realizinf how fantastic it is and when we were kids it was all the so real to me.

At least they have the pans flashing for the shots! :rotf: Have seen some old movies where the hammer didn't even fall for the flintlocks to go off.
I too am enjoying these reruns. I am sure like so many others that this show helped fuel the flames of desire for these guns.

I'm just about Booned Out for the time being....
Have watched 14 of the first 24 episodes. The
rest are being recorded.
snake-eyes I must be :youcrazy:

Man, watchin' this show really takes me back. I loved it when I was a kid and still think it's pretty cool. They did a pretty good job with the muzzle loaders too, not a caplock in the bunck,LOL.

Since the 'net is relatively annonymous, I'll admit to watching re-runs as a kid and getting my Grandmother to make me a vest out of fake fur. Had a pretty impressive collection of those Paris brand cap guns, too. Never had a coonskin cap, though. Family was all railroaders and I had (and still have a few) all the engineers caps I could stand. All too big, though. Imagine a kid with an engineers cap, fur vest and fake gun in cutoff jean shorts running amock in your neighborhood. HA! No wonder some of those folks still look at me cross-eyed!

Has anyone else noticed that Daniel is using a smoothbore? :hmm:
No, but I tell you what.......Kentucky has some pretty big (and Rocky) mountains!

Like you all, I ate this stuff up when I was a kid. But now that I know a little more, it's hard to watch without laughing. In this afternoon's episode, Daniel Boone and Major Patrick Ferguson are chasing each other around the Falls of the Ohio, which is apparently located somewhere east of the Blue Ridge. In the mean time, they are dealing with Shawnee who are drsssed remarkably like Sioux and Cheyenne. And all they while, they are running up and down the same roads where MASH and The Dukes of Hazzard were made.

Only in America.

sutallee..........gees ruin it fer everyone! bet you tell the kids ain't no santy claus, eastern bunny, teethfairy or bigfoot either..that's it! i'm turnin to watch golf....what ? no tiger either... :cursing: :blah: :rotf: RC

If I got it right next month you should be able to get the whole series on tape or CD. I think it's about 50 hours of show. That's a lot of Boone but then my Hooker Boone rifle is rifled and shoots well.
Fox
