Some of the laws invented by management defies logic or sense , I place my faith in my experience in my land management and not some one whos never seen or stepped on or worked it . I take care of it and let others manage theirs , and I will not interfere in others stupidity . I and the wild life and the land do just fine and I'll leave both in better condition for the grand kids to enjoy with absolutely no (HELP) from government !/Ed
exactly! well said,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

for those on here that have said our deer in SC are small, and insinuated those southerners know nothing about deer management, and have also said because our season is so long our deer never grow. and look at us like we all should have been buck tooth inbreed idiots that should have been extras on the movie deliverance, here is a buck that was killed about 30 miles from where i live in the lowcountry. it was killed a week ago by a 20-year-old whose uncle is my friend and Neighbour. it was 225lbs with a 22in inside spread. his brother killed another one almost as big. man, what in the world would us poor ignorant southerners do without yall's help,,,,,,,,,,,

that is another thing we do not do in the south. no need for it. i guess if you had to drag one a couple of miles it would make some kind of sense, but i ain't going to cut guts out of a deer and dump them where i hunt, or get blood all over me, and trash and dirt on the inside my deer. we just drive up to them, load them, and take them home or to a processor.

It’s common practice where i hunt to gut it in the woods. My uncle would drive the tractor in, load the deer and gut it hanging in the barn. Gamelands dont like it when you do that.

Correct. All depends on the basics. Food Water Shelter. And the ability to let that one go until next year so he can get bigger. Having your own property helps as WMA,s are usually over run by Hunters. Learning the curve here to establish a Herd and a Santuary where they know they are safe. May take a season or two but it will pay off in the long run. Be Safe. SM
