developing loads

I've not casted anything or dealt with them, but I know that the Lee molds lack a sprue. They heat quicker (as well as cool quicker), and from what I hear is that they last if you take care of them. Many believe you get what you pay for though.

today I went out and shot with a 45/70 case of ffg (about 80 gns) 2 shot groups at 50 yards. It seems to like this load and all shots would hit a rabbit. I cleaned with a damp patch between groups and did 2 inch groups. I then tried the 54 cal lubed felt wads. The loading is easier as it lubes the bore and at 75 yards it shoots to about 3 inches. With this load I have a 100 yard pig goat or deer rifle. I think that will do me with this rifle.Is anyone doing much better in field positions?
