I applied for bear but nada. It's all good. Plans are too much in Flux to work it in.

Gotcha. Thought I misunderstood the post.

Ha! CA has tons of bears. They banned using dogs several years back (public proposition). Not so good for houndsmen. But fantastic for those of us who don't use dogs. They cause all kinds of mischief & CDFW stopped issuing depredation permits too. So people now beg hunters they know to help take some out. Bee yards, subdivisions and even just good ol' forest land has more bears than ever. I think it's going to put CA on the list of destinations to come for big bears. I don't think anybody saw that coming when they voted to ban hounds.

Moose. Starting off with my 54 lefty Lyman GPR. Got a 4th rifle buck tag too. Cancelled my Wyoming deer app after drawing CO moose, and sitting out CO elk for the first time for the same reason.

I have a lefty 54 GPR. Don't hunt, but bet that bad boy packs a wallop!

I’ve killed a couple elk with it. I have the lefty flintlock also.

I put in for just about everything, with preference point as my first choice, and mostly NW Colorado areas for 2nd thru 4th choices; Muzzleloader elk, 2nd season deer, moose. Didn't draw a single tag. Today I put in for leftover elk muzzleloader tag ... we'll see what happens.
If all else fails, there's still Over the Counter for elk.

All youth get preference on all choices before they even start drawing for adults in the secondary draw. Only low demand hunts with lots of tags will make it to adults in most cases. Good luck though.

@gkainz The NW took a big hit on winter kill. Deer, elk and antelope 75% reduction in tags.

Drew a unit 72 73 colorado buck tag. Applied for the same unit for second draw cow elk.

Drew a u18 cow ml. Wanted deer their but tried second choice and didn't get it. Has always been easily done but I think more apps this year.

Just got the email from dow. Unsuccessful for the cow tag. Oh well I got a pretty good area for deer. I think I might buy a muzzle loader bear tag.

I drew an Archery deer tag in the secondary. Not a particularly desirable unit but it's perfect for me.

With only a deer tag in my pocket I’ll be trying to pick up an elk, antelope & maybe a bear tag.

Bear tags will be easy if you're not particular about the "where". Actually, antelope too but once again, there's that "where".
