I've ordered stuff from them but never been in the store. Gonna be traveling in the general area - have others stopped in? What did you think?
What to expect: Lots of antique guns! They have a Gatling gun for sale! They have a lot of neat antique cars! What not to expect: A glamorous showroom with lots of staff waiting on you. If you want to buy anything, you just tell the clerk the item number(s) from their catalog. (They are a mail order business) To me, it's worth the visit.

Last time I was there they had a scratch and dent area. Found a Green Mountain T/C replacement barrel in 58 cal that was only missing the sights. I was able to barter them down to under $200 for it. Spent another $100 or so on my "parts list". Like suggested before, write your list before you go as there are lots of things to look at.

My wife even enjoyed the showroom.

Everything changes but four years ago I drove from Michigan to see it. It was a bucket list item from way back.
Never ever was so disappointed in my life..! The staff was rude. The place was dusty and the car museum had water on the floor and bird droppings on the cars..
Maybe we caught them on a bad week end. But it was NOT worth the trip to see it...!
Hopefully it has improved..... JMHO

Back about 69 or 70 I was living in Mayfield Ky and was collecting bills for Time Finance co,. and I'd go down to Tenn. once in a while and I'd go into Dixie Gun Works. Unfortunately I don't remember a lot but I think they had a big brass cannon or some such thing inside the front door. Wish I could remember more.

If you are expecting a bright shiny place you will be disappointed. It’s more like the vintage hardware store in a small town that hasn’t changed much in 75 years. Still, it is a Mecca for frontloaders. The small staff was busy when I was there but helpful when I needed it. I think there were maybe three staff in there the day I was there.

Schedule plenty of time, there’s lots too
see…👍

😎👍

I posted a thread with pix of the store back in August from my pilgrimage to it. Highly recommended.

ETA: buy a catalog there & have the owners sign it. I got 3 when I was there, gave 1 for my son & another for a cousin.

Yes, Yes, & Yes. It’s a great place to go to look, shop, and admire. Guns everywhere, even an antique car museum. Well worth your time, plan to stay 2 or 3 hours.
I have also been there. You are correct.
