Actually it wasn't WWF...as I have never really met him. A gentleman I was with talked to him and I asked who he was. First time I have seen him. It was actualy John K, who made the flat horn with the sundial.

(wpalongrifle) Mike, How did the cereal taste? Pretty good I'll bet. Great looking item.:hatsoff: Very close to the original. One more thing...you know it works!!!

(dr??? not sure if I know him).:surrender:

NO!! These people are the best in the world. Not a 2nd thought given that they would bring a loaded gun. I can see some "ANTI" jumping all over that one.
I thought Chuck put on a great event this year. If you were not happy you are in the bottom one half percent. There was something there for everyone.......Ample parking, good food...good prices..... GREAT representation of the best builders out there. These people are second to none and will take the time to talk to you no matter what your expetise ----- I think some may be hesitant to talk to the 'greats' thus making for a bad day......I cant wait for next year. The new ALR shirts hid the chilli stains well!!! LOL
Thanks Rich for doing the shirts again this year.

OK,It was the other judge to be. Boy, do I fool feelish. John's historic reproductions are of the finest quality possible. His horn was very nice, but his turtle shell flask mounted with silver and his red and silver French flask from previous years were show stoppers and the finest work I have seen. It's going to be great to have him in the crew also. If he judges according to his standard of work the entrants next year better have their $#!+ together. Thanks for attending, say hello next year.

Best or worst makes no differnce to me, if a gun isn't in my hands and my control I assume it's loaded, and even then I treat it like it's loaded. It's not funny how 100% certain unloaded guns sometimes go BOOM. Accidents happen.

When I picked one up to look at i made sure I pointed it up and away from anyone. I don't care who you are, accidents happen that is why they are called accidents. With respects to everyone was represented I beg to differ being a left handed shooter. :cursing:

That being said I did have a great time and with the Lords blessing will be there next year.

doug, wife put spoon in dishwasher, now baby
spoon :cursing: new judges, willy, john k.and
dave r. i know two said yes. all three guys are
master craftsmen in there own right... i'm glad
to know them and learn from their vast knowledge
of horn work..if you want to perfect the art of the horn, join the HCH guild..later, mike

As far as lefties being represented...I did see a few rifles that were built backwards. Even made a comment to a few builders that the lock was on the wrong side. :hmm: Saw Brian LaMaster was bulding one in tent up near the store. There are probably more right handers than wrong handers anyways. :rotf: (brother is wrong hander...so only kidding guys).

Mike...too bad about spoon :shake: ...bring it if you are coming to Sunday's shoot.

I agree, the builders there were some of the best in the business. I talked to most and they all had a waitng period of one to three years for a rifle. With that kind of backlog, they don't have much time to build rifles to sell at shows.

I too, can't wait till next year.

All that said---I too handle all guns as if they are loaded. How many flintlocks there had flints in them?

Tell me You're kidding, right? This show is held in the vacinity of the birthplace of the American Longrifle, and you are looking for a factory handgun that was made in New England that took factory caps to fire? You're kiddin' right?
