I wax my guns. Been using Renaissance Wax but switched to Collinite 238 paste insulator wax after using it on my boat. Keeps water and snow beading up on the metal for a long time.

Seems to keep the stocks nice also.

I use Briwax dark brown for hiding scratches and and filling in pin holes and gaps. Renaissance or Johnson's wax for regular protection on wood and metal.

I use Butcher's Bowling Alley Wax, available from the BWC Co. or Amazon. I've used it for years on stocks, barrels, furniture and household furniture. It also works great as a release agent for epoxy. The same wax is also available in brown, called New England Brown Paste Wax. Same stuff, different color.

BC stock wax is good. I use both Johnson’s and BC on all of my guns and self bows. Few coats per year does the trick. I don’t wax wood with poly sealers on it. Only oil finishes get waxed.

Since Johnson's is no longer available. I got this from my local Hardware store. It works Great.

A few years ago I wandered down Wallyworld's closeout section. They had Johnson's PW for $1 a can. I bought six. Sure wish I remembered where I put them. I use it on guns and woodworking tools, but am down to my last little bit until I find the stash. SMH. Getting old sucks at times.
