The faster twist of your gun is accurate for the time period. It was used by the Volunteer units that served as a ready militia should Boney cross the channel.
 
so who makes the 70 cal belted ball for the baker Id like to have one to show off, how many kinds of barrels did they use / Ive read of smooth, belted ball and 10 or 11 rifled, wasnt the belted the long range one or have I got it mixed with the ? Jacob maybe? Just a wondering. :front: :front:
 
Belted balls are for the back action Brunswick rifle that replaced the Baker. They fouled too rapidly and the riflemen had to carry smaller size regular balls too.
