Mike Cumpston and Johnny Bates devoted a chapter of their second book, Percussion Revolvers, A Guide To Their History, Performance and Use, to the Starr revolvers. You kind of get the feeling they weren't impressed with them right up front, as the chapter is entitled, "Treason With A Hair Trigger: The Starr Revolver".
