yep, unless you can do it with out messing up the finish on the barrel. :v

I always cut my dovetails before Browning or Blueing.

Cut them before finishing the barrel. I like to raise the dovetail with a chisel. Hershel House demonstrates the method in one of his videos. John

Before you finish the barrel. If your pining the barrel you'll have to dovetail the under lugs while building any hoo. Use them as practice ones. :thumbsup:

just have to do the site slots yet the pin lugs were the first to get done :v ..............bob
