I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to find brass drawer pulls for a powder horn. I have Sibleys book and am making a horn. I saw the pulls on some horns in the book, but have no idea where to find them. Local hardware stores and big box stores dont have them . Any help is appreciated!

I guess you want it for a knob on the plug end.
TOTW has 2 different sizes that fit into threaded inserts so you can use the hole for filling the horn.

Some old electric lights have brass knobs that hold the globe in place, which come in many different shapes.

Smo, the light fixture knobs are what I have used on a couple of horns. You can thread or epoxy a short length of the threaded lamp pipe into the butt of the horn and the knob just screws onto that. Easily removed for filling.

Guys, thanks for the ideas. I am looking for a pull that is a brass ring. It almost looks like a sling swivel stud, with a round ring that swings freely from it.

JM, Ive been looking for these for 6 months, still no luck,Ive seen them on pics of new made horns from places like Dixon's gun fair, Im thinking that if you want them you'll have to find a machinist to take them, Ive looked in specialty hardware stores and web sites, no luck, if you find a source for purchasing them , please share here! If I find one, Ill post where as well.

I've not found any in 10 years; like other guys say, check at antique/flea markets, or a specialty woodworking supply.I don't use them much but when I want one I chuck a piece of brass rod in the lathe and use files instead of chisels to form the post part and heavy brass or steel wire for the ring.I,ve made them by using a drill clamped in a vise too. Hope this helps
