I finally got around to trying the drill cloth in all of my Front stuffers with the exception of the woodsrunner. I haven't gotten to it yet. But the other four shot better than they ever have with it. Same lube ( moose milk dry lube). I'm a cut at the muzzle guy and the drill seems to not fray as much as other cloth. That and its tough as nails, my fired patches look better. I've never had any blown through but the edges were always frayed. The drill has some fraying around the edges after firing, but it seems to hold up better. Granted across the four rifles some were tighter loading with the drill due to variances in the bores. But all in all the patching material performed better than I expected. Depending on how the Woodsrunner does, I just may have found my all around patching material. I like to keep it simple, I'm not one that likes to switch around a bunch of accoutrements to feed the herd. I want to thank ya'll for cluing me in on this material.

@Adam in WI, drill has been showing up in the online JoAnn's website and I think it's available for shipping. Some of the denims and thinner canvas come close to drill. Sure hope that JoAnn's Fabrics is working its way through bankruptcy reorganization.

I noticed they had it available online for the first time in months a few weeks back but the name changed from #40 Drill Cloth to "Happy Value". I was concerned it might be a different product so I ordered a couple yards. It came a few days ago. I compared it to the other stuff I had previously. It's exactly the same. But of course now they are out of stock

I use 10 oz denim from Hobby Lobby ( I like the store they got principles ) was about .020 also got what I think was drill cloth about .023 but a much corser weave. The denim had a finer tighter weave and loaded easier. They both held up just fine. Every other week I think they have 40% off the fabric and you can get seral different 1/4 or 1/2 yd pieces for just a few dollars each then try them out. I get off white cotton flannel there that make great cleaning patches.
