since the change jar is not full enough to buy the wad cutter and caliper was wondering the thickness of "drill cloth" from JoAnn fabrics, looked to be thinner than blue pillow ticking was hoping it was about .015 to use as a patch the cotton weave seemed tight enough.

I think Rebel and I checked the drill cloth at 018.
Reb will chime in, if I'm wrong

I measured some at xmas time and "santa" brought me some...
was .015 to .016, measuring in various places.
Thinner than typical stripped ticking. Am happy with it in my .40, tad tighter to start. My pistolo, she no like! had to stick with .015 flannel on her (has a little more squish)

Take a zeroed micrometer with you to joanne's. They are getting used to us egg smeeling guys coming in!

I think Brett Sr, has the main difference. I don't think pocket drill compresses as much, or as easily as cotton flannel, or cotton patches will. The tighter weave is the reason for this. NO matter what you hear, ALWAYS take your micrometer or caliper to the fabric store, and measure it yourself. Its your money, so don't throw it away. It would be great if you could take your rifle into the store and try a strip of the fabric to see how it works for you seating a PRB in the muzzle of your gun. But, that is not that realistic an expectation, unless perhaps the owner is a member of your gun club!
