Well, last minute decision to go sit in the woods and realized it’s drizzling and I don’t have a cows knee. This worked but NOT period correct, at least I don’t think. It was my best shot yet with the flintlock. She went around 25 yards and fell over. If it wasn’t for the snow on the ground I never would have found blood. She hardly bled. There wasn’t a drop of blood for the first 15-20 yards. Goes to show me that without snow I need to keep looking for dead deer in spite of no blood trail. I haven’t skinned her yet but the ball didn’t pass through. I suspect it’s against the hide. 45 cal, round ball, 60 grains fff, bear grease patch. Wishing all you guys a deer b4 the end of your season
