A generous fella on the forum gave out a turkey head target pdf that can be printed out. I was wondering if anyone had something similar for a duck or other waterfowl. I like to have consistent sized targets for pattern tests so my results don't get skewed. Worst case I'll whip out the tried and true paper plate!

I thought the question was interesting so I Googled “duck target” and got a bunch of hits. Some ( maybe most) were irrelevant but Ballistic Products has flying duck patterning targets. They are big, like 40” x 38”, but they have rings pre-printed for counting pellets, and they are on sale right now.

Just Google “duck target” and scroll through until you find the Ballistic Products link.

Best regards,

Notchy Bob

I appreciate that Notchy Bob. I was hoping one of our forum members had a print out target of a duck so I wouldn't have to spend money!

I stand corrected... here's one. 😁

like mentioned its going to size funny on the printer paper because there on a poster size paper.

You can crop the birds and see how it prints.
Thank you trigger much appreciated!!! I think you gave me the turkey as well

you might have to flip it to print right also..

Like this one.

I printed some out vertically and they came out good, I'll just use the 30 ring as the kill zone and count the pellets within, now at least I have consistent targets

Most modern printers have a 'Poster' mode printing ability.
You have to look in the print set up settings for it.
I have made many targets using it (jackalope, stacked barrels, etc).
You just tell the printer how many sheets you want the image printed on (2, 4, 6...) and check to box for alignment (? Wording may differ) marks.
Once printed just assemble the 'jig saw puzzle' and tape together with clear packing tape.

Now if you have basic image handling skills you can make very precise sized targets of many different critters and objects, add bullseye, rings, cross hairs then print to your desired size. If you don't have Photoshop then Gimp is free and has virtually all the same functions.

That's a neat idea thank you for sharing!

Honestly, I'd forgot about those. A decade ago before going elk hunting I printed a bunch of sheets forming the kill zone for the elk. I took a washing machine box and taped them to it.
Any week I saw was in trouble. But the only elk I saw were cows hanging in neighboring camps. I had a bull tag.
😕
