Most modern printers have a 'Poster' mode printing ability.
You have to look in the print set up settings for it.
I have made many targets using it (jackalope, stacked barrels, etc).
You just tell the printer how many sheets you want the image printed on (2, 4, 6...) and check to box for alignment (? Wording may differ) marks.
Once printed just assemble the 'jig saw puzzle' and tape together with clear packing tape.
Now if you have basic image handling skills you can make very precise sized targets of many different critters and objects, add bullseye, rings, cross hairs then print to your desired size. If you don't have Photoshop then Gimp is free and has virtually all the same functions.
