Ticks sure can find some bad places to attach... :shocked2:

I'm guessing that fella in the shorts doesn't live where chiggers are present either... :hmm:

Cody may have a screw loose but he is the biggest hippie i have ever seen. I would not pull on his braids. As for the other guy I hope he enjoys his new black powder tattoo.

I suspect that Dave has had his tetanus titer up to date for this show.

I like to watch the show but I do realize that it is scripted for a general TV audience. I am sure there are many members here that could produce a real outdoor-survival show but I am not sure if it would generate a lot of interest in the ratings. It may be too factual and useful.

I wonder why he didn't have a cow's knee for protecting the lock? Also I concur with the question why did he not shoot something with it.

Did you see any animals during the filming?

Had he saw any game, he dang sure would have shot it.

They were in Argentina, not sure what one has to do with licensing and all. It would have been nice if they did use the gun but it just might not have been practical or permitted at that time, who knows.

Caught the show last night. Cody definitely has a screw loose. In near zero temps with snow in Wyoming and this fool is wearing shorts and wool socks. :youcrazy: Its a do as I say not as I do kind of a show and thats really not how someone should teach survival. :shake:

You do understand hes been going shoe-less for ove 20 years?

Boots - Shoes have weakened our feet and leave us prone to fungus and worse during cold weather, frost bite.

Don't talk down something you aren't up to date on. I've been watching the show since day one and love it. Sure beats watch desperate house wives or worse, man vs wild.

That hippy will kick all our arses when it comes to surviving.

Believe it or not I got tetanus in my 20's from a splinter that I dug out with a small knife blade that was cleaned with alcohal first. Seems the bacteria was on the wood not the blade. Not something to play around with. 3 days on IVs after my hand was cut back open by the Doc.

Just something on going shoeless. Foot pads have been recovered from the battlefields of the Zulu wars in South Africa and those were fought in the 1870's. Going shoeless from birth really puts a "sole" on your foot.

There is merit to what that hippy is doing. I'm not so sure about his take on feet in cold weather, but he seems to know what his body can take.

Kinda hard to shoot anything without balls or lead if there were animals. All they had was a gun, powder and flint from what I saw.

I don't care Kentucky. Hes teaching survival to people it shouldn't be do as I say, not as I do. I'll always find that wrong. :v

Cody and Dave have both discussed the disadvantages of going without shoes on the show many times. Cody does not recommend it to others, its just what he has been doing for a long time. Anybody giving it a try will walk about 100 yards in the woods and quickly change their mind. :haha:

I didn't do all that well in bio, but Cody's theory about his mitochondria adapting sounds like BS to me.

The whole cauterization thing was a gimmick (got to compete with that idiot who eats dung). The look on the big guy's face when he lit it up showed all you need to know about how painful it was.

As for having the rifle and no RB, I would have thought about finding something I could patch heavily and shoot with a light load to at least ding small game.

no round ball? He loaded it during the first 15 minutes of the movie with a patched round ball :youcrazy:

He was also hunting beaver. If he hadnt of loaded it, what was he gunna do? Club it to death?

Not going to argue with ya as you seem miffed I don't think very highly of Cody's teaching methods but if he had balls for that gun I missed that part and I was trying to pay attention to them listing what they had to go a long with the gun. Just didn't see or hear balls mentioned. :idunno:

Well I still think that with the lock and bore being uncovered in that rain and sleet and river crossing it would not have mattered if the gun was loaded or not, just my observation, I really thought that there would be nutria all over the place there and offer a better chance at a score as they are often diurnal more so than the flattails.

I don't remember a mention of balls either. However, they were supposed to be simulating a hunter who fell down the hill. That's why he put a cut on his arm. So, I assume everything to shoot the gun should have been in the bag.
