Thanks Spence10- that seems pretty conclusive to me. What Aaron Burr's mother must have been talking about was what we might consider a chocolate tart- still sounds pretty good.

The wife and I were at a rondyvoo one time and she was making a pech pie. She was peeling the peaches and a flat lander asked , "what are you making?", She answered " a peach pie." The woman said "With peaches?!!!". To which my wife answered " they were all out of watermelon."

I guess I left out that pie was baked in a Dutch oven. That modern lady stayed there and watched the whole time to make sure we didn't switch pies. Turned out look I got like the picture Coloraso Clyde showed.

Fwiw, one afternoon when "Duckie" was still able-bodied & I was much more "active" with Tenth Louisiana INF BDE, we "acquired a feral pig" of about 60-70# & I was preparing to cook it, a couple walked up & asked me what I was doing.

"Getting ready to BBQ this pig", I said.

She said, "I thought that pork chops only came in plastic."

yours, satx
