I just won a two wedge mountain rifle that I cannot identiify with certainty. Looks like one of the Traditions guns, but It only has Ardesa Spain 54cal Black Powder Only on the barrel. Is tis just an early version? What kind of quality are we talking here? Looks well made.

Ardesa made their own rifles to supply the European market, quality stuff. They actually spent more time with fit and finish of the lock/trigger components and assembly of the rifle.
Imports where made by several different small "company's" looking to break into the USA market, most only making it for a few years before being shoved out by the big companies
Ardesa is still making quality gun in Spain.

The very early ones said Jukar made in Spain on them and both CVA and Traditions imported them as their own. Their parts were even interchangeable. They were also marketed by many other companies as their own. They changed from time to time over the years and CVA no longer markets the Traditional style side locks. Now they just sell the unmentionable ones.

Hello sir...I have the same ardesa 54 caliber rifle. Do you know the twist rate? What load shoots good in yours ? Thank you
