That is in the price range of some in the white guns TOW has had for sale, I suspect this one would be worth more with all the bells and whistles but not THAT much more.

Well, with the lock priced at a few cents extra, we know why it's not part of the deal.
E-Bay won't let you sell a real working "gun" :shocking: on their site.

As for MOP inlays, I don't know that I've ever heard of a Kentucky with them.
The European Kings etc had that kind of stuff, but Americans??

It's my understanding that the inlays on American guns were brass or coin silver.

TG? Ghost?? Others?? :: ::

I'm still trying to figure out why the builder hasn't finished the gun. It looks like it would just need some careful light sanding, staining and oiling to be completed.
Very wierd, I say! ::

I think this is supposed to be a late flint period gun, at least post 1800,I have little in the way of resource material to make a judgement on the PC factor as my interest is of an earlier time period......many of the top dollar guns by well known builders are in the "fantasy" class however so it may not be a factor in the pricing whether it is correct or not.

never herd of MOP on a long gun but i supose maybe somewhere ??????, Bone and horn yes but not MOP. if the guy is smart he will sell it . all the reserve means is he dosnt have too but can chose to if he wishes

He said he started this several years ago...MOP...clear plastic heels on disco boots with goldfish in them....kinda go together don't they????

We better keep our eyes on Zonie after this. He's attracted to shiney gee-gaws like a leg-hound to wool gaters.

Too bad there aren't more M/L on ebaY. This was fun. :haha:

"A student of the lesser-known Las Vegas Brothel Shool of Longrifles.".............the one in back of the Mustang Ranch?
:RO:
I always wanted to attend that school, but I couldn't afford the tuition and they laughed when I mentioned scholarship.....said it was "just a bit short" or sumpin to that effect, funny bunch of people run that place.
Bunch of MOP heads, if ya ask me.

Russ

From the pictures the relief carving appear excellent. Inlays are well done too as is the moulding around the lock.

BTW, I saw an older Mark Silver made gun that had an asking price of $16,000. Way beyond my meagre budget.

Yah, Ah went thar afore they closed the place.
Thar kinda weird at that school.

Thay all seemed ta know all 'bout in lays.

Em folks seemed real interested bout ma being able to hold a flint stone in the jaws of my flintlock hammer, (well, Ah didn't call it a "hammer" whan Ah was talkin 'bout it).
Thay said thay had never heard of a cock with jaws!!!

Several o um started a gigglin whan Ah tol um Ah usually use a vent pick afore primin, but iffen tha touch hole war large, Ah used a feather. One of um asked me iffen that wouldn't tickle? Real strange, em folks, Ah says.

Thay were curious bout ma short starter too, and wondered iffen that's all Ah had. Whan Ah tol them Ah just use it fer startin out afore Ah pull out ma 43 inch rod, two of um fainted! Another got tha darndest grin on her face tho. Like Ah says, thar weird.

Thay were interested in ma leather ball pouch too but looked a bit disapointed whan Ah said Ah left it at home.

Thay all seemed ta know what a shot measure wer, but thay didn't know ye could get tha adjustible kind.

Tha also didn't know much 'bout powder measures measurin in grains. Thay said most of the powder measures thay had heard 'bout measured in grams.

Whan tha subject turned ta lubes, Ah tol um some folks use moose milk or Bore Butter but Ah offen jus use spit.
Thay hadn't herd o moose milk or Bore Butter but all o em said thay had tried spit at one time or another. Most of um warn't real fond of it, thay said.

Whan tha talk turned ta how to instal a cap on a cap lock "cone" thay seemed ta loose interest tho.
Ah just said, "sometimes you gots ta pinch the cap down real hard so's it dont fall off o the nipple.
Ah ain't sur why but whan Ah tol um Ah have several different nipple pricks they all got up an left me sittin thar alone. :: ::

   I don't know when I've ever laughed so hard...my darn sides are hurting!

  R O T F L M A O!!

Sore strange folks! Bet they liked the idea of that "feather"...a hole bunch!
  :RO:

Somewhere, I'm sure, there is a rule on just how funny a darn post can be. I think this one should be reported to the funny patrol....Where's that Stumpy when ya need him? Clyde, yo Clyde!

Their favorites were Assh and Slippery Elm.

Oh, like me, they all seemed horrified at the idea of blowing down the bore after shooting a load.

Sorry 'bout that Claude.

It are intersting ta watch em youngins whan thay gets ta readin thins what thay arn't supposed ta know 'bout tho.
Iffen tha read it an walk away with a blank look on thar face, ye know ye are safe.
Iffen tha read it an turn kinda pink, an thar cheek gets kinda sucked in like thar a bittin it hard an tha walk out o tha room an down the hall an then ye hear squeels of laughter, ye know thar already way ahead o whar ye thin thay should be.
It are good ta kno jus how far outter touch ye can be. At way ye knows what ye really need ta be worring 'bout.

Bout em Censors.
Thay didn't usta work up in LasVagus did thay? Thar used ta be some real sweet folks up thar who would bend o'er backwards fer ye but it seems a lot o tham folks pass out fer no reason at all! :: ::
