Been moving these horns around the shop in various states of construction for the past year, finally decided to get em done and off the benches to make room for more junk!

great horns they look fine , no one but a horner has any idea how much work is involved in makeing one.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, there not as nice as Rnady's or some of you other fellas work, but figured I needed to get them done and out of the way before I start some new projects, have a couple more horns to do, a couple sheaths and some more bags for some folks out here.
Tom, been looking at your horns lately got me inspired to finish these off working on a flat map horn next, going to scrim the HBC crest on it for the compass rosette, then the HBC forts, rivers and mtns that existed here in Wash state.Ill post pics when I start and as I progress on this one.

Hey James,

Good looking horns. You know you can also scrimshaw those bison horns. Scratch your designs in the horn and fill the scratching with red ink or thinned red paint. It makes for a real interesting effect on the black horns.

Keep up the good work,

Randy Hedden

Beaverman,
That second one is begging for scrim.Don't
you hear it??? All are very nice!
snake-eyes

Nice work BEAVERMAN. The first one is a real beauty. The buffalo horns are my personal favorite for everyday carrying. I like plain black buffalo horns but the second one looks like it is a blank canvas just waiting for you to decorate it.
Keep up the good work.

Snake, it sure is, thats why i left it plain, figure whomever gets it can do their own scratchn on it, some folks would like to try to scrim, just dont have the knack for cutting and filing horn.Kinda built it for that purpose.

Thanks Cooner, I agree about the buff horns, these 2 are way more fancy than I normally make with buff, usually I just taper it with a turned plain spout tip with a small lip on it, got a wild hair on these 2 and as they were quite thick I figured id give it a go on some turnings and panneling and see what the response would be to them, somebody will want them.

Thanks again fellas, hope this inspires some of you who where thinking about building a horn to jump in with both feet and a hand full of files and get busy, heck if i can make a hornm anybody can! and if you drill through the horn while working on the spout or file through it, dont throw it out! make a salt or rum horn out of it and try again, dont ask me how I know this! :rotf:

Nice horns Beaverman, but I thought we were not suppose to indirectly or passively look for sells or SHOWCASE on the Forum? What's with the price string price tags? From your comments, looks like you might be fishing a little to me?
