Took a while but I finished my knife up that I was asking the forging questions on. Was going to high polish the blade back up after the hardening and tempering but I kinda like the look it has. Blade is right at 7" long.

Great looking knife....i like the way it looks as is also.

Nice job. Personally,I like the finish on it.

I sometimes do clean off most of the discoloration from heat treating, and then use the newly made knife to cut onions and tomatoes to give it that used, but cared for look.

God bless

Good question. I've posted stuff in pictures and it was moved to craftsman and vise versa.

 I like the finish, and that piece of antler looks like it was grown for that knife

Great looking knife. You can be proud of it especially since you forged the blade. I'm curious about the bolster. Is it part of the blade or added on? GW

No it is all one piece. The bolster is the only thing round on the straightened out, hammered flat coil spring. It is probably best with the non high polished finish. With the carbon content it rusts pretty quick in use without oiling it back down. I am very happy with it, I'll hang on to this one.

You did good. I like it.Forging an integral blade can be hard to do and keep everything centered  :hatsoff:

Man, I've got to pay closer attention. I've been checking in on this forum for almost a year and I never knew there was a "photo" section. Thanks for the tip Horner!

Great knife by the way, I love the handle.

With that being said, I think alot of people get discouraged. They think they can't do something. Most crafts are not rocket science. Just do some research and follow the steps. You learn new things, you have something you can be proud of plus it is fun.
