I wanted to reply to Wayne1967 but replied to Horner instead. Really a great job. I'd like some lessons on forging. I'd like a look at the real thing sometime if that would be OK.
Thank you for the compliment but see if you can go to an event with a real blacksmith with an anvil, forge and all the equip. I use a makeshift forge with a hairdryer for a bellows and a vice flat for my anvil. I am a beginner. I see you are from missouri. Try to make it to Fort De Chartres right across the river in June. There is also a blacksmith supply store in St. Charles if you are near there. There are probably more smith attended events in Missouri also if anyone wants to add?
Great work!! The only suggestion I would give is to taper the tang on the next one. Nearly all tangs were tapered in 18th c., and early 19th c., but still, very nice work, and a very nice knife.
