finally got this all done. I am still in the process of putting more coats of original oil finish onto the stock. I put one coat, rub it in and then let it sit over night. Its still coating up after 7 coats so i figure i may as well just let it take it on slowly.

I used 7 coats of birchwood casey rusty walnut. I really love how the colors came out. The oil finish darkened it a little too.

Very nice...I have one of them also. I modified mine from the original kit a little. They are really great shooters as well.

Looks like a nice job, you should get a lot of good use from that nice looking piece.

Nice job of finishing and I like the color. Will you be putting the tacks back in or leave it as is?

Nice job.

Jealous..

Made that same rifle in 45 back in 77. Going to make another oneday.

Did not look as good as yours.

speaking of .45 i just noticed last night that traditions now offers these in 45!! the possibles shop has them listed for a fair price.

Wow. I really love the wood finish.
looks like you did well to compliment a nice piece of wood :hatsoff:

She shoots center :haha: This was my first flintlock deer ( currently my only with a flinter! )
My best group is 1 1/2" and the rifle shoots an average of 2" groups @ 100 yards with 110gr 3f goex. It kicks like a mule but i always go for the tightest groups possible.
