I love bison and therefore I have bought several bison horns from professional horners as well as have made some myself.
The first one I made was plugged with wood and then the plug faced and wrapped with thin brass and fixed with screws (first they were brass screws, later replaced with iron screws).
I have four more bison horns yet to finish. One I would like to finish and engrave like the Fort Pitt horn.

Is Fort Pitt a specific horn, or is it the French & Indian style more generally? I've seen some photos of fancy horns from the Ft Pitt area and time period, mostly scrimshaw white-black ones.

It needs a better strap, but took the bison horn to the woods today. Could carry a lot of powder, though I carry only enough patch and ball for 5 shots so it was mostly empty.
