Shooting it as fast as I can!Dump the Pyrodex and shoot good old black powder. 60gr of Pyrodex equals almost 70gr of BP, BTW.

Probably have, just haven't found the recipe!Someone will surely come up with a recipe for staining stocks with Guiness!
Yes he is Legit, unlike most YouTube idiots who are Not Legit. This is why I recognize him as thus being LegitNot certain what you mean by 'legit'. Of course he is 'legit'. He is the European organiser for the Muzzleloading Association International Committee [MLAIC] under who auspices all muzzleloading competitions are arranged and run worldwide.
Check out the 2019 comps held in Hungary on Youtube.
There's a muzzleloading shop about an hour away from me that makes pretty much all the push thru sizers sold by every dealer, Northeast Muzzleloading Shoppe, but the owner has health issues and I don't even think he's making them anymore. If he is it's a few at a time.Where did you get the sizer?
Cool he's the Doctor of Muzzleloading then
Balázs is just one of many who are involved with the organisation of the Muzzle Loaders Associations International Confederation (MLAIC). I first met him at the European Championships in Finland in 2003. That I think was the first year Hungary competed. Not certain what you mean by 'legit'. Of course he is 'legit'. OkNope, he's a doctor of military history.
And we're working to fix that. It took years for this to get to this state of affairs and it's not going to be fixed overnight. See my thread on working with kids. After our BoD in the N-SSA declined to support the effort we moved on, working with kids is too important. There's not much here in the US , Skirmish is kinda dying and there is the NMLRA but most people would have to drive hours to a rifle match
You're good for probably 100+ rounds with that pound, that's awesomeWell, who would have believed it. I found a single container of FFFg Goex! Old stock from the former sporting goods store that changed hands a few months ago. Of course I have 50 cartridges made up with the Pyrodex. Now I'm thinking I will dump the Pyrodex and use the Goex....
Personally I would shoot the ones made up with pyrodex and take notes. One day you may only have pyrodex again.Well, who would have believed it. I found a single container of FFFg Goex! Anyone who owns a Rifle-Musket should read "Myths and Realities of the Rifled-Musket " it's full of applicable information
The author really doesn't hide the fact that he believes Rifles weren't at all effective in the Civil War and also feels Repeaters are over rated in their combat effectiveness. Basically he feels Percussion Smoothbores were the way to go. It blew my mind
There's always the old gunsmith trick of just taking the barrel out of the stock, finding two trees and giving it a very slight bend. Very slight. Or having a gunsmith put a shallow dovetailed front sight on.
I tried the Pedersoli "sniper sight" , that didn't work well, it all comes down to just putting a few 100 rounds through it to see what's going on.
ArmiSport and Pedersoli do a good job of centering the sights to the boreline but barrel blanks can be bored off Center by a little bit, as people who have cut barrels down to make carbines have found out , they mass produce these so we can buy them for $700-1200 instead of $5000+ for hand fitted rifles like a Romano.
Original barrels will bend like paper if you're not careful, modern steel takes a lot of effort and patience. I just read a story where a guy brought a Colt Peacemaker to his gunsmith because it hit way off the POA, the gunsmith put the barrel in a padded Vice and bent it "by feel" and the gun owner was at first horrified like, this guy is bending a barrel on a $1500 revolver .....then he fired it and it was dead on. Gunsmithing Wizardry.Lots of "great tips" on this link but Stantheman86's post on barrel-tweaking between two posts is spot-on & is best option to correct an off-center bore & get your sights centered on your barrel...
I've successfully done this numerous times to correct point of impact on rifled & smooth bore rifles. However I do not recommend folks to try this unless they are mechanically inclined & have some patience.
It often requires numerous minor corrections to obtain optimum results. Doing the job right may require a few hours as you will need to re-assemble the rifle after each tweak & fire 5 shots in order to properly track progress.
My method has been to tweak with slightly more pressure in the direction to correct desired point of impact , then apply a little less pressure in the opposite direction to stress-relieve the area.

As much fun as that sounds, I think I'll see how things go after re bedding the barrel around the plug end. Also re "blacking" the front sight and adjusting my sight picture. It isn't off much. Maybe a right handed gun with a left hand shooter....Original barrels will bend like paper if you're not careful, modern steel takes a lot of effort and patience. My newest fix for my ArmiSport is to install a period-looking tang sight from an old lever gun that I found , that has windage adjustment and just use that with the front sight. I'm not looking to turn this into a precision target rifle , just something enjoyable to shoot that kinda looks like a "sharpshooter" rifle.
I am pretty certain that many Italian barrels are bored a little off Center, which accounts for windage being a little off.
I'm with you, anything less than a cloverleaf group is unsatisfactory, that includes my smoothbores as well.I expect too much, basically, when I shoot and if I'm not putting them on top of each other at 100 I feel like something is wrong.

I ended a range trip with my Parker Hale P53 with these two shots from 100, I aimed at the "waist" and I was so proud of myself
I'm like , I'm done for the day now I'm not ruining this 2 shot group
