Good purchase  , I have one too. It was also my first flint. I have about a 1K of shots or so down now.
At first I was using the flint with the edge pointing down, as it wore in a bit the frizzen had taken a divot to the face, after truing it up a bit, I now use the edge up where the flint strikes high, works much better now.
Get in touch with a fellow member here for some flints, Rich Pierce,
http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showuser.php?uid/1953/ he makes them, they are quite well done and priced well.
U can load/prime using just fffg, in fact its well suited to this size.
I load 70gr fffg/.490 lead ball/.018"tho prelubed patch, I also put a bit of bore butter to help with fouling; I get about an inch or so at 50yrds.
Also one last thing, I would strongly suggest u get a range rod for this rifle. The "ram rod" they give u, I think is for decoration, its as strong as a wet noodle. My range rod I made, is a steel 1/4" rod about 6" longer than the barrel with the last 6" bent 90deg for a grip, with the opposite threaded end for a brass rammer head, I also made a bore guide to protect the muzzle. The factory one can be used in a pinch, I have when I have forgotten the range rod :cursing:, but for the most part it is better used for cleaning IMO.
Good luck on the new buy, let us know hows it comming.  :hatsoff:
